Principal
Greetings, Dolphin Families!
My name is Shannon Mudry, and it is my sincere honor to serve as the principal of Village View Elementary School.
At Village View, we pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment where academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth thrive. Our dedicated educators, staff, and families work together to ensure that each student feels valued, inspired, and equipped to succeed in an ever-changing world.
I have been blessed to call the Ocean View School District my home for many years -- not only as a former student and current employee, but also as a parent. As a child, I attended both Circle View and Spring View. After graduating from Marina High School, my educational journey continued at California State University, Long Beach (Go BEACH!), where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. While teaching in the upper-elementary classroom setting, I continued my education and earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching, specializing in Reading and Multicultural Education.
As an Ocean View employee for more than twenty years, I have served in many different roles. Highlights include teaching at Westmont Elementary, supporting teachers and principals as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA), serving as a Curriculum Specialist on OVSD’s Leadership Team, and as the Assistant Principal at Marine View Middle School. My experience as an educator has provided me with a strong background in designing effective instructional environments that meet the needs of all learners.
Growing up in Huntington Beach, I met my husband, Ryan, while we were students at Marina High School. He is a fellow OVSD alum and attended Marine View for Grades K-8. Ryan is also an educator, teaching high school physics in the Orange Unified School District. Together, we have three children, who all attend Ocean View schools.
I'm excited to lead the amazing Village View community, comprised of a dedicated staff and amazing families. Here's to a year of growth, discovery, and success!
