Village View School-Parent Compact

At Village View School, we are committed to working with parents and families to provide the best possible educational experience. This School-Parent Compact is jointly developed with parents for all children. The School-Parent Compact outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement, and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the state’s high standards.

 

As educators and role models, we understand the importance of providing a successful school experience. Therefore, we agree to carry out the following:

  • Provide time for parent-teacher conferences to discuss student achievement

  • Provide ongoing two-way meaningful communication regarding student progress 

  • Provide support with student attendance and engagement

  • Provide meaningful parent resources to support learning at home

 

As a parent/family, I/we will assist in the learning and success of our child in the school by carrying out the following:

  • Attend Back-to-School Night, Parent/Teacher conferences, Open House, and other school activities

  • Participate in ongoing two-way meaningful communication regarding my child’s progress

  • Ensure my child attends school and is prepared for the school day

  • Support my child’s learning at home via daily reading for pleasure and (when assigned) support the completion of homework assignments

 

As a student, I will keep my focus on what is important in meeting my goal of learning by:

  • Follow our Dolphin PRIDE - Be Kind, Be Safe, Responsible

  • Attend school daily and be an active participant in my learning

  • Ensure my actions help create a safe and productive learning environment
